Sybase Announces Free Database Development Tool for ASE and SQL Anywhere Customer

Sydney — 23 January 2008 - Sybase today announced that its Adaptive Server® Enterprise (ASE) and SQL Anywhere® customers now have free use, through 2008, of the Sybase® WorkSpace Database Development tool, which is specifically tailored for the ASE and SQL Anywhere platforms. WorkSpace Database Development simplifies and unifies the complete development life cycle for database applications--development, debugging, testing and deployment. A graphical Eclipse-based tool, Sybase WorkSpace Database Development enables visual SQL building, query analysis, and sophisticated editing and debugging. With WorkSpace Database Development, ASE and SQL Anywhere users can build the highest quality code faster and to help ensure their databases and applications run optimally.

Benefits of WorkSpace Database Development for ASE and SQL Anywhere customers include the ability to:

• Visually create and edit database objects, including tables, stored procedures, events and User-Defined Functions (UDF)
• Navigate and manipulate database objects in the enterprise
• Export and import database objects and services to database servers
• Visually debug stored procedures, triggers, SQL Anywhere events and UDFs
• Automatically detect and create required temp tables
• Leverage Eclipse framework for extensibility
Part of the complete WorkSpace toolset, Database Development is integrated with data modeling, services-oriented development and orchestration, and data federation, allowing Sybase customers to manage their data more efficiently than ever before.

For a Limited Time!
Between now and December 2008, ASE and SQL Anywhere customers can take advantage of unlimited free use of the WorkSpace Database Development module. ASE and SQL Anywhere customers may download the database development module at: www.sybase.com/SQLdevelopment.
