(NYSE: SY), a leading provider of enterprise infrastructure and mobile software, today announced that AJAX development capabilities and further Microsoft® .NET enhancements have been added to the latest version of Sybase® PowerBuilder® 11, the premier 4GL rapid application development (RAD) tool. PowerBuilder 11.2 represents another milestone in the PowerBuilder roadmap for delivering .NET interoperability and incorporates new features such as AJAX functionality for WebForms, which enables richer, more interactive data-driven application development.
PowerBuilder has long been a gold-standard for 4GL Rapid Application Development (RAD) IDE for building two-tier, distributed Web applications and Smart Clients. With the inclusion of AJAX technologies, Sybase is enabling our customers to leverage the world of Rich Internet Applications (RIA) and Web 2.0 on the .NET platform for their existing PowerBuilder applications.

PowerBuilder 11.2 is currently available and new licenses are US$2,995, with updates to older versions of PowerBuilder beginning at US$1,495 USP. Current PowerBuilder 11 customers with valid support contracts are able to update to PowerBuilder 11.2 for free.
